Rolls Royce and Bentley component Overhaul & Restoration service

At Daniel Moore & Co. we overhaul all components for the early post-war Rolls Royce and Bentley chassis. Such overhauls include but are not limited to, engines and all associated components, front hubs & bearings, starter motor & starter drive, steering boxes, king pin and lower trunnion assemblies, shock absorbers, rear half shafts, prop shaft dampers, rocker shaft assembly, crank shaft dampers, differentials, gear boxes, steering idlers and steering shafts etc. All of our work is done in house and comes thoroughly tested, warranted and aesthetically finished to a very high standard. Simply send us your components by courier and we will return them to you in as new condition, fully overhauled and ready for you to replace them back on to your car.

Shock absorber overhaul

Shock absorber maintenance is often overlooked and a non functioning or leaking shock absorber can regularly be wrongly diagnosed as something far more serious in relation to the chassis suspension or steering.

At D Moore and Co we have gathered a great deal of knowledge and spare parts to be able to offer a first class and fully guaranteed overhaul service of these very important components. We handle each shock absorber individually and where possible reset the damping effect to factory specification.

We are able to provide any level of finish from standard black to full concourse.
If a fast turn around is required we always have exchange units on the shelf. Contact us for more details.

Rolls Royce and Bentley Restorations

Early post-war Rolls Royce and Bentley restoration is our bread and butter, we love nothing more than turning a barn find or a rough diamond into a motor car to be proud of.

We welcome the opportunity to help you turn your dream car into enjoyable and sustainable ownership. We are able to overhaul and restore every single component on all early post-war cars in-house at our Whittlesey workshop.

Like with our Rolls Royce and Bentley Service & Maintenance, the starting point for any satisfactory restoration is a very thorough evaluation of your motorcar. Obviously, you have ideas about what needs restoring and you may have prioritised your findings. After our evaluation, we can work together to put a plan in place to suit your budget, requirements and timescale.

Coachwork Restoration

Some owners want their car restored to as-new condition whilst others want post-war vehicle to retain the ‘warts and all’ patina of the car whilst ensuring that reliability and safety is as up-to-date as possible. Interestingly enough, the tendency used to be for the former and now more people prefer a lighter touch to cosmetic restoration.

A Standard Steel Bentley MkVI under our care is precisely such a car, mechanically restored to better than it rolled out of the factory. Cosmetically it dons its original 1948 paintwork, the chromework is not flawless, the leather inside has split. The car being described belongs to one of our valued customers and  travelled over 1,600 miles in the summer of 2019 traveling through France. Never missed a beat. Such reliability started with a proper restoration and with proper maintenance after restoration.

If you require total or partial car body restoration, car body Panel fabrication, full resprays or even accident repair for your early post war Rolls Royce or Bentley then we can undertake your project. We specialise in aluminium and steel bodied cars and handle 90% of the repair process here in Whittlesey.
